The Best Canon EOS Rebel SL1 Memory Cards in 2023

The price of SD cards has significantly decreased since the release of the Canon Rebel SL1.

It would be foolish to choose anything else than a pro-level card because the cost is so minimal.

I’ve found that the SanDisk Extreme Pro, Lexar Professional, and PNY Elite Performance cards are the best. With those memory cards, I’ve never experienced a card physically failing or unreadable data.

Every problem I’ve had has been brought on by generic, unbranded SD memory cards. Saving a tiny bit of money won’t be worthwhile if your Rebel SL1 won’t operate properly.

Choose a lower storage capacity SD card from a reputable manufacturer to save money. You may be confident that your images are safe on the memory card as a result.

1. SanDisk Extreme Pro 95 MB/s

Last updated on December 5, 2022 11:02 am

Numerous top-performing memory products from SanDisk bear the Extreme Pro label. According to SanDisk, this Extreme Pro 95MB/s UHS-I Secure Digital card has 95MB/s read and 90MB/s write speeds, making it the newest to carry the moniker.

SanDisk incorporates the read speed in the product name rather than creating a new name when it upgrades its cards. 8, 16, 32, and 64GB storage options are offered for the Extreme Pro.

New models in 128, 256, and 512GB were previewed at Photokina in September 2014 but have not yet been made available. We test the 32GB model since it is often a popular capacity among photographers and because, at the time of this review, it has the greatest price/GB of storage ratio.

2. Lexar Professional 2000x

Last updated on December 5, 2022 11:02 am

With a 128GB storage capacity, the Lexar 128GB Professional 2000x UHS-II SDXC Memory Card makes use of the UHS-II bus to support advanced DSLR features like continuous shutter bursts, quick shooting, raw, and JPEG captures.

With maximum read and write speeds of up to 300 MB/s and 260 MB/s, respectively, this card is also ideally suited for video capture, including 4K, 3D, and Full HD video. Its V90 speed class designation ensures that minimum write speeds won’t go below 90 MB/s.

3. SanDisk Extreme Plus 90 MB/s

The new V30 video speed rating is added by the SanDisk Extreme Plus 90MB/s U3 V30 32GB SDHC card. The V30 certification ensures the card can support at least 30MB/s of continuous video recording and qualifies it for 4K recording.

SanDisk claims that the Extreme Plus 90MB/s has a faster 60MB/s write speed than the Extreme 90MB/s while maintaining the same read speed rating. Only 40MB/s write speed in 16, 32, and 64GB capacities are available with the non-Plus Extreme. There are two storage options for the Extreme Plus: 32 GB and 64 GB. This study tests a 64GB SDXC card with the model number SDSDXWF-032G-ANCIN and UPC 619659147174.

The Extreme Plus 90MB/s card has UHS Speed Class 3 and Class 10 UHS-I. (U3). In contrast to the earlier SD Class 10 specification, which calls for cards to be capable of at least 10MB/s continuous write speed, it is rated to offer 30MB/s continuous write performance for recording HD and 4K video.
