The Canon EOS M50 Mark II is a minor update to the previous Canon EOS M50 model. However, it offers minimal improvements in terms of quality of life over its predecessor, including support for clean HDMI output, eye tracking autofocus in video, and a little longer battery life than the previous model.
It’s an entry-level APS-C camera that’s quite tiny and portable, and it feels pleasant to operate, much like the original. Furthermore, Canon’s menu system is extremely user-friendly, and it includes a tutorial mode that walks novice users through the menu system’s many settings and capabilities.
It produces excellent picture quality, with a wide dynamic range and photographs that are largely noise-free even at high ISO settings, making it an excellent choice for low-light situations.
It performs admirably while taking 1080p video, but its 4k video capabilities are unimpressive, with low video quality, poor focusing performance, and the inability to record at frame rates faster than 24 frames per second, which results in a harsh 1.5x crop when recording.
