The AK2000C, a new three-axis handheld gimbal for mid-sized camera systems from Chinese gimbal manufacturer FeiyuTech, was released shortly after DJI unveiled its most recent gimbals.

The AK2000C is a compact handheld gimbal that can operate for up to seven hours on a single charge and handle nearly 2.2kg (5lbs) worth of camera equipment. With normal prime and zoom lenses connected, this payload would be large enough to accommodate modern cameras like the Canon EOS R/R5/R6, Fujifilm X-T3, Nikon Z6/7, and Sony a7 III.

The gimbal’s frame is made of an aluminum alloy, and it has quick-release locks on all three axes, just like DJI’s gimbals, to keep everything secure when it’s being stored. The gimbal weighs a little more than 1 kg (2.5 pounds) and unfolds to a size of 69 mm (2.7″) by 208 mm (8.1″) by 348 mm (13.6″).

The AK2000C, according to FeiyuTech, is driven by its W7 algorithm, which has preset filming modes like timelapse, 360-degree pans, selfie mode, vertical shooting, and more. The gimbal’s revolutionary OLED touchscreen allows for direct control of both camera and gimbal settings; however, FeiyuTech doesn’t list any specific cameras that are compatible with the gimbal.
