Canon EOS Rebel SL2 DSLR Camera Review

The Canon EOS Rebel SL2 (also known as the EOS 200D outside of North America) is a second-generation ultra-compact digital SLR camera that was introduced in 2009. It’s crammed with the latest Canon technology, including Dual Pixel AF, a DIGIC 7 processor, Wi-Fi with NFC and Bluetooth, and a new user interface designed specifically for novice photographers.

While its diminutive size may lead some to assume that it is an entry-level model, akin to Nikon’s D3400, the SL2 is actually positioned above the Rebel T6 (EOS 1300D), which costs $150 less and is a more capable camera overall.

With the Nikon D3400, the Sony SL2’s primary rival, which is just slightly bigger and heavier than the SL2, comes the SL2. The SL2s’ other competitors are also mirrorless cameras, and they include (in our opinion) the Canon EOS M5, the Panasonic DMC-GX85, and the Sony a6000, which, despite being on the market for more than three years, is still a competitive option.
