Fujifilm X-T3

Fujifilm X-T3

Designed for videographers and action photographers alike, the black FUJIFILM X-T3 is a versatile mirrorless camera typified by its high-speed performance, more-than-capable imagery, and multimedia adaptability. Revolving around a newly built image sensor and processor, both high-resolution stills and 4K video may be captured while an adept autofocus system gives a rapid and precise focusing performance.

The sensor, a 26.1MP APS-C-format X-Trans CMOS 4, boasts a back-illuminated design, to encourage improved image quality throughout the sensitivity range, combined with a large 2.16m-point phase-detection autofocus system for rapid, precise AF performance and subject tracking.

Complementing the imaging and focusing is the X-Processor 4, which employs four CPUs for speedier picture processing as well as continuous shooting up to 11 fps with a mechanical shutter, 30 fps shooting at a 1.25x crop with the electronic shutter, and inbuilt 4K60p 10-bit video recording.

Like previous X-T cameras, the X-T3 keeps its classically inspired appearance and prominent tactile controls and adds a new OLED electronic viewfinder design with a 3.69m-dot resolution and a high 0.75x magnification. This finder boasts a high refresh rate of 100 fps for smooth viewing and stays blackout-free while shooting at the maximum 30 fps shooting rate.

Also, a special Sports Finder Mode may be employed, which accentuates the 16.6MP crop area in order to offer you greater room outside of the frame to detect moving subjects. Conversely, a rear 3.2″ 1.04m-dot LCD panel may also be used for live view filming and bigger picture playback.

Additionally, the X-T3 also boasts built-in Bluetooth for wireless sharing and remote control, and the magnesium alloy shell is entirely weather-sealed for operating in challenging weather conditions.

NOTE: This kit does not contain a BC-W126S Battery Charger, but includes a USB charging connection.

APS-C CMOS sensor with 24.2MP resolution and hybrid autofocus

When shooting in a range of lighting circumstances, the 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor produces high-quality stills and video in high definition. In addition to having a native sensitivity range of ISO 200-12800, it also has an expandable range of ISO 100-51200 to better suit working in extremely bright or extremely dark conditions.

UHD 4K video may be recorded at resolutions of up to 29.97p, while Full HD video can be recorded at resolutions of up to 59.94p. Electronic stabilization can be utilized to assist stabilize unsteady footage during the recording process. Additionally, while working with moving subjects, a constant rate of 8 frames per second may be achieved when capturing stills.

In addition to its image capabilities, the sensor incorporates a hybrid autofocus system that use both phase-detection and contrast-detection technologies to provide rapid and precise autofocus tracking and tracking. This focusing mechanism also has the capability of detecting both faces and eyes, which helps to ensure proper focusing while taking portraits.

Video Recording in Ultra HD and DCI 4K Resolution

It’s more than just a stills camera, though, as the X-T3 also has an impressive array of video capabilities, including internal UHD 4K60p video recording at 4:2:0 10-bit, as well as external 4K60p 4:2:2 10-bit video recording via HDMI output, both at up to 400 Mb/s—and simultaneous external and internal recording is possible.

is also able to record in DCI 4K30 and Full HD 1080p120 resolutions, and video files may be recorded using either MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 or HEVC/H.265 compressions, as well as in 4K. Although the quad-CPU X-Processor 4 is extremely fast, it only achieves read rates of 17 ms when recording 4K60 video, which helps to decrease rolling shutter distortion when capturing moving subjects. This has a significant positive impact on overall video performance.

Additionally, in addition to the 10-bit color depth that is offered, the X-T3 also has the F-Log gamma setting, which produces a flat image that may be used in advanced color grading applications throughout the editing process.

This increases the possible dynamic range in tough circumstances, and picture modifications may be made to the highlight tone, shadow tone, color, and sharpness, as well as the overall contrast and sharpness. If you are shooting in F-Log, you may take advantage of an improved noise reduction algorithm as well as 4K inter-frame noise reduction. The minimum sensitivity has been dropped to ISO 640 in order to accommodate working in a wider range of scene types.

Additionally, the camera includes a 3.5mm microphone jack as well as a 3.5mm headphone port for use with more complex audio systems.

Body Design

  • A bright and clear method for eye-level viewing, a 3.69m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder delivers a high 0.75x magnification, rapid ~100 fps refresh rate, broad viewing angle, and lockable diopter adjustment. The viewfinder stays blackout-free while shooting up to the top 30 fps shooting rate, and a special Sports Finder Mode may also be applied, which highlights a 16.6MP crop region of the sensor in order to allow you to see outside of the image frame.
  • In addition to the EVF., a rear 3.0″ 1.04m-dot LCD touchscreen is offered for intuitive live view shooting, playback, and review, and settings change and menu navigation. The screen includes a three-way tilting design, too, to suit working from high and low angles regardless of filming with a horizontal or vertical orientation.
  • Dual SD card slots offer users a more versatile and dependable way of storing imagery, and both card slots are compliant with UHS-II standards for rapid transfer speeds.
  • The top plate contains a number of locking dials and levers for rapid, intuitive control over exposure settings, including a shutter speed dial that provides direct shutter speed adjustment. An ISO dial is also included within the shutter speed dial, allowing checking the sensitivity setting without having to turn the camera on and the exposure compensation dial allows you to pick +/- 3 EV in 1/3 increments while a command dial position widens the range to +/- 5 EV for extra flexibility.
  • Front and rear command dials combine a push function for better use and settings selection and six separate function buttons may be assigned to control a range of settings.
  • A separate Focus Lever gives faster, more intuitive control over selecting individual focus locations while shooting.
  • Integrated Bluetooth 4.2 low energy allows you to wirelessly transmit photographs to a mobile device or use the device to remotely control the camera.

Modes for film simulation and grain effects are available.

The X-T3 incorporates a number of Film Simulation modes, which make use of Fujifilm’s extensive experience with conventional film-based photography. Some of Fujifilm’s classic film types are replicated in these modes, including Eterna (which mimics the look of cinematic film with understated colors and richer shadow tones), Acros (which provides smooth tones, deep blacks, and fine detail), and Classic Chrome (which is designed to deliver muted tones and deep color reproduction, similar to that of a dated slide film). Other effects are also available for both monochrome and color photography, in addition to the ones listed above. Additionally, a Grain Effect setting is offered to imitate the look of old film images with an organic grainy appearance, which is especially visible when printing.

A modification has been made to Firmware Update Version 4.20, which reduces the maximum amount of frames that may be captured in a single folder from 9,999 to 999.
