The Sony A68 is compatible with two distinct types of memory cards. Additionally, Sony XC-HG Duo, PRO-HG Duo, and PRO Duo are compatible with SDXC, SDHC, and SD memory cards.
There is only one memory card slot on the A68. You must choose between a PRO Duo card and an SD card.
Sony controls the proprietary memory format used by PRO Duo memory cards. As a result, SD memory cards are less expensive and frequently offer much superior performance compared to PRO Duo cards.
SanDisk, Lexar, and PNY are manufacturers of premium Memory cards. SanDisk Extreme Pro SD cards were the best SD cards I have ever used.
That does not imply that you must get a SanDisk card for your Sony ILCE-A68. Look for cards with names that seem impressive. This will guarantee quick transfer speeds, shock resistance, and many features.
With either PNY Elite Performance or Lexar Professional cards, I have not encountered any issues.
When I’ve had issues with memory cards, it’s been when I’ve purchased inexpensive, generic ones. The absence of a brand name increases the likelihood of data corruption or card malfunctions.
If you wish to spend less money, do not purchase a cheap card. You would be better off acquiring a memory card of lower capacity but higher quality.
