The Hasselblad X2D 100C is a relatively significant increase in comparison to the previously released Hasselblad X1D II 50C. This is due to the camera’s newly integrated sensor and processor, which make it not just a camera with greater specifications but also one that should be much more pleasant to use.

It will be a camera that responds considerably more rapidly than the one that is now available, and as a result, it will provide a more gratifying overall experience while being handled because of its enhanced processing speed and its new XCD V lenses that focus much more swiftly.

The X series of hand-holdable medium format mirrorless cameras produced by the Swedish business debuted with the X1D 50C in 2016, and this X2D 100C is the third iteration of that series.

The original model and the follow-up X1D II 50C both employ a 33 x 44mm 50MP sensor, but this new model packs 100MP into the same area and provides a host of extra advancements. Additionally, the new model has a larger viewfinder and a faster autofocus system.

When Hasselblad announced the latest iteration of its X1D 50C camera in 2019, it was referred to as the ‘Mark II,’ which caused us to wonder why it wasn’t referred to as something like the ‘Hasselblad X2D.’

The response was that the then-new CPU and the enhanced responsiveness of the camera weren’t sufficient to make it an entirely new model at the time. It would appear that the upgrade to a sensor with 100 million pixels, an autofocus system that uses phase detection, a newly designed rear screen, in-body stabilization, and a new top-plate information panel is sufficient enough to warrant a new model name; as a result, we now have the Hasselblad X2D 100C.
