Get ready for a new kind of shooting experience with the Nikon Z9 Mirrorless Cinema Camera if you’re a wedding videographer, a drone camera operator, or a multimedia journalist who has professional photo still and cinema video production needs.

The newly built FX-format 45.7MP BSI stacked CMOS sensor is at the heart of the Z9. Its stacked construction allows for quick readout rates and helps to decrease the rolling shutter, while its BSI design adds excellent clarity and minimal noise when working at higher sensitivities. Both of these design features are advantageous when dealing with higher sensitivities.

It is also a high-resolution chip, with 45.7 megapixels, which is beneficial for landscape, portraiture, and other genres that focus on detail. Additionally, it supports recording video at resolutions as high as 8 kilobytes per second. This sensor has a native range of ISO 64-25600, which can be increased to ISO 32-102400. The full-frame BSI design is noted for superb color and detail reproduction as well.

In addition to the sensor, the powerful processing engine known as the EXPEED 7 provides rates that are nearly ten times quicker than those provided by a Z 7II. This engine, in conjunction with the stacked sensor architecture, enables the camera to achieve extremely quick autofocus speeds, high burst shooting rates, a large buffer capacity, smooth video performance, and snappy handling in general.

The Z9 totally dispenses with the usage of a mechanical shutter in favor of just employing an electronic shutter for any and all capture modes. This decision was made in order to capitalize on the Z9’s fast and stacked sensor construction. The speed of the sensor permits recording at up to 1/32,000 of a second, and the layered construction helps decrease motion distortion for a more realistic portrayal of things that are moving quickly, such as golf clubs, baseball bats, and vehicles. In addition, despite the lack of a mechanical shutter, the flash sync up to 1/200 of a second, and high-speed sync features are still available.
