Get ready for a new kind of shooting experience with the Panasonic Lumix GH5s Mirrorless Cinema Camera if you’re a wedding videographer, a drone camera operator, or a multimedia journalist with professional photo still and cinema video production needs.

The Panasonic Lumix GH5S is a mirrorless Micro Four Thirds camera that demonstrates the company’s ability to extend the GH series even further into the domain of videography. This camera is geared for movie recording as well as performance in low light.

Built around a 10.28-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor, the camera is capable of recording DCI and UHD 4K video at frame rates of up to 60 frames per second. The large individual pixel size also enables impressive low-light performance up to an extended ISO 204,800, along with Dual Native ISO technology at ISO 400 and ISO 2500. Moreover, the camera has a built-in electronic viewfinder.

When combined with an improved Venus Engine, the sensor and processor combination of the new GH-series camera offers quicker readout rates and rolling shutter distortion that is 1.3 times less than that of earlier models of the GH-series cameras. Internal DCI 4K30p recording is provided with 4:2:2 10-bit sampling, and a full-size HDMI A connection may be utilized to concurrently output to an optional external display or recorder. The recording resolution in this mode is 4 kilobits per second at 30 frames per second.

It has also been used to promote working with V-Log L and Hybrid Log Gamma HDR modes, which can effectively increase your dynamic range and afford you more flexibility when color grading during post-production. These modes were developed to take advantage of the extended sensitivity range of the sensor.

In addition to its ability in the realm of video recording, the GH5S also excels in the taking of still photographs. The combination of the sensor and the Venus Engine enables the recording of 14-bit raw data at a maximum continuous shooting rate of 12 frames per second when using single-shot autofocus, or up to 8 frames per second when using continuous autofocus.

Taking a cue from the video side of things, there are now 4K PHOTO modes available, which allow you to capture 8MP stills at up to 60 frames per second. For the benefit of still photography, the Depth-From-Defocus AF system works swiftly and correctly employing 225 specialized AF zones, and it is sensitive to -5 EV brightness, allowing it to function well even in extremely dimly lit environments.

In addition to its photography capabilities, the GH5S maintains the same high level of professional construction as its predecessors in the GH series. The body, which is made of magnesium alloy, has been totally weather-sealed so that it can function in adverse situations. Additionally, the physical controls have been improved so that they are simpler to manipulate by touch.

A huge OLED electronic viewfinder with 3.68 million dots is included, allowing for high-resolution eye-level monitoring. Additionally, a back 3.2-inch LCD touchscreen with 1.62 million dots and free-angle movement is provided to accommodate working from high and low angles.

Dual slots for UHS-II SD memory cards are included for versatile file recording, and built-in Wi-Fi, together with NFC and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, enables seamless image sharing as well as remote camera operation from a mobile device.
