Dual Native ISO, which is borrowed from Panasonic’s broadcast series of video cameras, aids in the achievement of a balanced mix of low noise and high sensitivity, making it more suitable for working in a variety of lighting circumstances.

A Low ISO circuit provides base sensitivities of ISO 100 for normal use, ISO 640 when V-Log is applied, ISO 400 when HLG is applied, and ISO 200 when Cinelike D2 is applied; a Low Noise circuit provides base sensitivities of ISO 640 for normal use, ISO 4000 when V-Log is applied, ISO 2500 when HLG is applied, and ISO 1250 when Cinelike D2 is applied; and a High Dynamic Range circuit provides base sensitivities of ISO 4

To make your recordings more suitable for color correction in post-production, the S5 comes equipped with two gamma settings that are tailored to capture a wide dynamic range in one shot. When using this camera, the V-Log profile is pre-installed, and it is utilized to record a flat and neutral gamma curve, as well as an equivalent 14+ stops of dynamic range, making it well-suited for grading.

As an added bonus, the camera’s High Dynamic Range mode and Hybrid Log-Gamma may be employed to capture more detail in both the shadow and highlight parts of a picture. More gradable images may be achieved by using additional picture styles such as Cinelike V2 and Cinelike D2, as well as an in-camera LUT, which simplifies the process of monitoring the image.

The HDMI Type D port also allows for the connection of an optional external recorder, and the 3.5mm ports on the back of the monitor allow for the connection of an external microphone and headphones.

Design of the Body

The L lens mount, which may be used in conjunction with other members of the L-Mount Alliance, is a flexible interface with a mount diameter of 51.6mm and a flange distance of 20mm that allows it to be used with a wide range of optical systems.

The high-resolution 2.36 million-dot OLED EVF provides a crisp 0.74x magnification and a smooth 60 frames per second or 120 frames per second adjustable refresh rate.

3.0 in the rear “The 1.84m-dot LCD is a bright, crisp display that can be used for both live view filming and playback and menu navigation. In addition, the screen has a free-angle design that allows for working from high, low, and front-facing angles. Additionally, the screen’s touchscreen form allows for straightforward management of settings.

Its splash and dust-resistant structure, which is made of durable, weather-sealed materials, allows it to be used in harsh weather conditions and challenging situations.

In addition to providing increased flexibility for image storage, the dual SD memory card slots—one UHS-II compatible slot and one UHS-I compatible slot—allow you to divide your image files into different cards, and save duplicate files to both cards, or simply double your storage space with overflow recording.

A USB Type-C interface enables rapid file transfer as well as high-speed battery charging while the camera is in use. An HDMI Type D connector is also available for video applications, a 2.5mm port may be utilized in conjunction with the optional DMW-RS2 Remote Shutter, and 3.5mm microphone and headphone ports are available for sophisticated audio recording requirements.

This rechargeable lithium-ion battery has a capacity of approximately 440 shots per charge when used with the back display, 470 shots per charge when used with the EVF, and 1500 shots per charge when used in Power Save LVF mode (which is enabled by default).

Shutter speeds up to 1/8000 sec mechanically, and flash sync speeds up to 1/250 sec mechanically, thanks to the high-precision shutter mechanism.

Image Stabilization Due to Sensor-Shift

With Dual I.S. 2, which combines the S5’s 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization with lens-based 2-axis image stabilization, photographers can achieve the highest level of sharpness possible when photographing handheld.

This allows photographers to capture images with the sharpest possible detail in a variety of lighting conditions. Dual I.S. 2 needs the usage of compatible Lumix lenses that include O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization).

This camera stabilization device is capable of compensating for roughly 6.5 stops of camera wobble, according to the manufacturer.

DFD Autofocus System is a type of autofocus system.

For faster autofocus performance, the DFD (Depth-From-Defocus) technology evaluates the distance between subjects and adjusts the focusing position in as little as 0.08 seconds, with sensor and lens communication occurring at speeds of up to 480 frames per second (fps).

It is possible to benefit from this contrast-detection type of focus method in both still and video recording modes, as well as subject tracking applications that use Advanced AI Technology. Subject type, color, size, and motion vectors are used to intelligently lock onto moving subjects and ensure precise focus with this method.

It is much simpler to prioritize concentrating on certain portions of the topic while dealing with portrait subjects because of the face, eye, head, body, and animal identification features included in the software.

The focusing sensitivity and speed of the camera may be changed to further optimize performance with the certain subject matter. It also has 225 autofocus regions, which allow you to have complete control over where the camera will concentrate its attention.

Additionally, a Low Light AF function, which supports operating in low-light circumstances, provides precise AF performance down to -6 EV.

Focus peaking, which emphasizes bright edges of contrast with a colored outline for rapidly recognizing your focus point, as well as Touch MF Assist, which allows for touch-to-focus operation, are both available for manual focus operation to make it more convenient.

In addition, an AF Point Scope setting, which momentarily magnifies the subject by 3x to 10x for confirmation of the focus location, is available. A custom selectable AF zone may also be selected for Multi-AF / Custom Multi-AF operation.

PHOTOS IN 6K AND 4K DEGREES

Still shooting modes take advantage of the S5’s video recording capabilities, allowing users to capture 3:2 or 4:3 8MP stills at 60 or 30 frames per second shooting rate, or 18MP stills at 30 frames per second shooting rate, using the following settings:

It is great for situations where a high frame rate is required in order to capture the best possible moment. Burst: This mode will enable you to record continuously, making it perfect for situations where a high frame rate is required in order to capture the best possible moment.

Pre-Burst: This mode is useful when you’re not sure when it’s important to push the shutter button. It will record photographs one second before and one second after pressing the shutter button, giving you a total of 60 frames to pick from in this situation.

Burst (S/S): This mode is the most similar to the video recording procedure, and it allows you to watch your video, pause it at a certain point, and then use the shutter button to choose a specific frame from the movie and save it as a single 8 or 18MP frame from your video.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are two types of wireless technology.

Bluetooth Low Energy (4.2) technology maintains a steady connection between your smartphone or tablet and the camera while consuming the least amount of power. IEEE 802.11ac and b/g/n support are also available for more robust wireless activities, allowing for quicker transfer, as well as more fluid remote control and monitoring operations.

To complement the camera’s wireless connectivity, Panasonic has developed Lumix Sync, an iOS and Android software that can be used to control the camera from a smartphone or tablet, as well as transmit images wirelessly.

Additional Camera Functions

The S5 has a High-Resolution mode that captures and compiles eight distinct exposures to form a single 96MP raw or JPEG image.

This is accomplished through the use of sensor-shift stabilization technology. This mode, which is best suited for static scenes and while working on a tripod, generates a more highly detailed and color-correct image than a single shot alone can produce, and it produces an image with a resolution of 12000 x 8000 pixels, which is the highest possible resolution.

HLG Photo mode provides a greater dynamic range, allowing for more detail to be captured in the shadow and highlight parts of the image.

In HLG Photo mode, images can be saved as HSP files in either 4Kor full resolution, in addition to JPEG and raw formats, for vivid playback on 4K televisions. When working in HLG Photo mode, images can be saved as HSP files in either 4Kor full resolution, in addition to JPEG and raw formats, for vivid playback on 4K televisions.

Additionally, photographs may be captured in 6524 and 2:1 panoramic formats, in addition to the normal 3:2, 4:3, 1:1, and 16:9 aspect ratios.

Highlight Weighted Metering mode emphasizes highlight values while calculating exposure values, which helps to keep bright highlights under control and avoid scenes from blowing out.

An AWBw setting will preserve a reddish warm color, whilst an AWBc setting will provide a cooler, blue tint, providing greater adaptability than conventional Auto White Balance (AWB).

Standard, Vivid, Natural, Flat, Landscape, Portrait, Monochrome, L. Monochrome, L. Monochrome D, Cinelike D, Cinelike V, Like709, Standard (HLG), Monochrome (HLG), Like2100, and My Photo Style are among the Photo Style modes available on the iPhone.

Firmware version 2.3 is available.

The Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR [5.9K] / [4K] / [Anamorphic (4:3) 3D camera now has raw video data output via HDMI thanks to firmware version 2.3. .5K] 12-bit. In order to record as Blackmagic RAW, raw video data may be sent over HDMI to a Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR and then recorded as Blackmagic RAW.
