The Exmor R sensor, the BIONZ X processor, and the 4D FOCUS are all included.

Sensor and image processing for a 24.1-megapixel full-frame BSI camera

The full-frame 24.2-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, which has a back-illuminated design, works in conjunction with the BIONZ X image engine to capture high-resolution stills and video while minimizing noise and increasing speed. Improved light collection and detail enhancement are achieved by the use of this sensor structure in conjunction with an on-chip lens design that is gapless and has an anti-reflection coating. Another benefit of using the copper wire layer is that it significantly increases the data transfer speed while making 14-bit, high-resolution stills with a native ISO sensitivity range of 100-51200, which can be further enhanced to ISO 50-204800 with a digital camera.

Versatility in Continuous Shooting and Recording Capabilities

In addition, when working with either a mechanical shutter or an electronic shutter, the sensor and processor combination allows for fast continuous shooting at up to 10 frames per second at full resolution for approximately 115 consecutive raw files or approximately 115 consecutive JPEGs, as well as full-time AF/AE.

Aside from that, it allows for internal UHD 4K video recording with a broad dynamic range while utilizing the entire width of the full-frame sensor. As mentioned above, the BIONZ X processor works in concert with an advanced LSI to provide quicker processing speeds while still capturing images with an amazing 15-stop dynamic range at low sensitivity levels.

Autofocus with Hybrid Technology is quick and accurate.

A Fast Hybrid AF system with 693 phase-detection points and 425 contrast-detection regions, which covers the majority of the picture area, allows for rapid and precise focusing in a variety of lighting circumstances with sensitivity down to -4 EV, while still maintaining high image quality.

Real-time tracking for AI-based tracking on moving subjects or touch tracking for manual selection of the subject allows you to lock onto targets fast and efficiently.

Using real-time Eye AF, which is ideal for both humans and animals, you can achieve essential sharpness while photographing people.

Videotaping is a type of recording that is used to capture video.

UHD 4K video recording in the XAVC S format is supported.

2.4x oversampling provides better detail, and a complete pixel readout allows for higher quality pictures with decreased moiré and aliasing. Internal recording of UHD 4K films at several frame rates up to 30 fps is available, and employing 2.4x oversampling provides greater detail and greater detail.

It is also possible to record in full HD 1080p at frame rates up to 120 frames per second, and both 4K and UHD resolutions make use of the 100 Mb/s XAVC S codec, which is kept behind an MP4 wrapper and uses 4:2:0 8-bit sampling.

The high-speed, 120-frame-per-second recording also allows for 4x and 5x slow-motion video recording at frame rates of either 30p or 24p, depending on the frame rate setting.

The uncompressed HDMI output, in addition to allowing for high-resolution internal recording, also allows for the use of an optional external recorder for clean 4K recording with 4:2:2 8-bit sampling.

S-Log3 and other color and gamma controls are also available.

The a7C has extensive color and gamma adjustments that can be customized to meet individual needs. Users may modify the gamma, black level, knee, color level, and more.

Increase post-production versatility by using the same S-Log2 Gamma Curve found on high-end Sony Cinema cameras, which squeezes up to 1300 percent more dynamic range into the video signal than typical REC709, which can be found on high-end Sony Cinema cameras.

HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) compatibility enables recording in a broad color gamut for the purpose of creating HDR-ready material directly from the camera without the need for additional software.

S-Log3 is also available for creating images with a 15+-stop dynamic range and enhanced grading flexibility in the shadow to mid-tone sections of the image, among other things.

5-Axis SteadyShot Image Stabilization INSIDE the camera

In spite of the a7C’s small profile, it is equipped with a 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization technology that is effective at 5 stops and compensates for various forms of camera shaking that can occur when shooting stills and video with the camera in hand. The ability to utilize any lens, even adapted lenses, for important images without encountering blur due to camera shake is a huge advantage for photographers.

When working with longer focal lengths, the system will compensate for pitch and yaw corrections automatically. The incorporation of horizontal and vertical shift correction will, on the other hand, be beneficial for macro and high-magnification pictures. The roll compensation will be beneficial to photographers of all shooting types. No matter if you are using third-party lenses and adapters or lenses with built-in optical stabilization, all five axes of stabilization will always be active and working properly.

Design that is both compact and versatile

EVF and Vari-Angle LCD built into one unit

In combination with a rangefinder-inspired layout and a compact and lightweight body design, the Sony a7C is a stylish and portable camera for daily photography. The a7C is roughly 20% smaller and lighter than previous a7-series cameras, making it similar in size to an APS-C-format camera in comparison.

a 0.39 of a percent “A type XGA OLED electronic viewfinder with a resolution of 2.36 million dots and a magnification of 0.59x is included, allowing for the bright, crisp vision of fine details.

3.0 in the rear “The rear LCD’s 921.6k-dot resolution is enhanced with a side-open vari-angle design that allows you to operate from high, low, and front-facing angles. A touchscreen is also included for easy control and playing of content.

This sturdy overall structure is made possible by a magnesium-alloy chassis and weather-sealed design that may be used in a range of environments.

When working with the rear LCD, the large-capacity NP-FZ100 battery provides around 740 shots each charge, and when working with the EVF, the battery provides approximately 680 shots per charge.

A single SD memory card slot is capable of supporting UHS-II memory cards, which provide rapid data transmission rates.

The Ports and the Interfaces

With a USB Type-C connector that supports USB 3.2 Gen 1, you can tether your device quickly and reliably while simultaneously charging your camera from your computer’s USB port while still attached.

With the optional ECM-B1M Shotgun Microphone or the XLR-K3M Extender Kit, the Multi Interface Shoe provides better, clear audio recording sound by providing a digital audio signal to the camera, rather than an analog signal, which is then recorded on the camera’s internal microphone.

In order to have more control over audio recording, 3.5mm microphone and headphone interfaces are provided.

WiFi (Wireless Internet Protocol) Connectivity

Because of the built-in Wi-Fi, the a7C can instantaneously transmit imagery to mobile devices for direct uploading to social media sites, sending through email, and storing in cloud storage services like as Dropbox. Wireless tethered shooting is also supported thanks to the inclusion of both the 2.4 and 5.0 GHz bands.

The use of a Bluetooth connection enables the capture of location data.

NFC (Near Field Communication) is also available, allowing for a one-touch connection between the camera and a mobile device to be accomplished. If a mobile device is connected to the camera, it may also display a live view image on its screen and control the camera’s shutter remotely.
