Get ready for a new kind of shooting experience with the Sony a7c Mirrorless Cinema Camera if you’re a wedding videographer, a drone camera operator, or a multimedia journalist who has professional photo still and cinema video production needs.

The high-resolution stills and video that can be captured by the full-frame 24.2-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, which has a back-illuminated design, are made possible by the BIONZ X image processor. Together, these two components cooperate to reduce noise and increase speed.

This sensor construction, along with an anti-reflection coating and a gapless on-chip lens design, serves to improve the light gathering and enhance detail. Additionally, the copper wire layer makes a significant improvement to the speed of data transfer, making it possible to create high-quality still images with 14 bits of resolution and a native sensitivity range that extends from ISO 100 to 51200 and can be increased to ISO 50 to 204800.

The combination of the sensor and the processor allows for fast continuous shooting at up to 10 frames per second (fps) at full resolution, for approximately consecutive JPEGs or 115 consecutive raw files, and with full-time AF and AE when working with either a mechanical shutter or an electronic shutter.

In addition to this, it enables internal recording of UHD 4K video at a broad dynamic range using the whole width of the full-frame sensor in the device. Along with the capacity to record an outstanding 15-stop dynamic range at low sensitivity settings, the BIONZ X processor also works in combination with a high-speed front-end LSI to realize speedier processing speeds. This allows the processor to achieve both of these goals.

The Sony a7C, despite its svelte appearance, is equipped with a SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization system that is effective for five stops and five axes. This technology compensates for the many forms of camera wobble that can occur when shooting stills and videos handheld. Because of this, users are now able to comfortably utilize any lens, even adapted lenses, for crucial photography without having to worry about blur caused by camera motion.

Adjustments for pitch and yaw are handled automatically by the system while working with longer focal lengths. On the other hand, the addition of horizontal and vertical shift correction will be beneficial to the capture of macro and high-magnification pictures respectively.

The roll compensation will be useful across the board for different shooting techniques. Even when using lenses and adapters from third-party manufacturers or lenses that already have optical stabilization built in, all five axes of the stabilization will continue to work as intended.
